You were really looking forward to doing a whole lot of nothing this Halloween night, and got invited to a party last minute. Here are a few last-minute celebrity costume ideas that are sure to pull your Halloween out of the gutter.
If it's applause you seek for your last-minute Halloween costume, you need look no further than Mama Monster, Lady Gaga. In fact her video, "Applause," is a treasure chest of ideas. This one appears to be the simplest (and warmest for those of you who live in cold weather regions). You're just a black top, black pair of pants, black beanie and a white sheet away from being Gaga.
You're just a swimsuit top, a shredded sheet (or old skirt or construction paper) and a few flowers away from pulling off Katy Perry's jungle glam in "Roar." Make a couple arm and leg bands and you're good to go. If you have a date, he can dress like the jacka** in the beginning of the video who gets eaten by a tiger.
Are you starting to see a theme yet? You're pretty much just a music video away from a quick and easy Halloween costume. This costume idea from the "We Are Never Getting Back Together" video is our favorite because it involves pajamas and a ponytail. In the video, Taylor Swift wears fashion eyewear that you can buy at any discount accessory store. This costume may be especially meaningful if you just dumped someone.
A Paris Hilton costume is limited only to your imagination. The key to any good costume, including this one, is exaggeration. Buy a long blond wig, throw on a party dress and oversized sunglasses and put a stuffed dog in your purse. You can switch out the purse for tons of shopping bags. Hilton also fancies herself a DJ these days, so you can have some fun with that idea.
Use comedy TV to inspire your last minute Halloween get-up. If you already have blond hair, put on something professional looking and make lapel pins that say "Knope 2012" and "I voted." If you love Modern Family, dress up as Gloria. It doesn't matter that you don't look like Sofia Vergara (who among us does?). That's what makes it so funny.
If all else fails, go to Saturday Night Live characters for countless ideas. There's hundreds of them, including Church Lady, Sally O'Malley, Mary Katherine Gallagher, the androgynous Pat, Lunch Lady, Matt Foley and Stefon. Don't forget SNL actors who went on to become Ron Burgundy, Joe Dirt and Austin Powers.
