Curtain Closes On Couple's Marriage
It is a sad day for Australian supermodel Miranda Kerr and British actor Orlando Bloom. The couple have decided to end their six-year relationship.
It is a sad day in Hollywood because another celebrity couple has called it quits. Orlando Bloom and Miranda Kerr have given up on their marriage of three years and decided they would be better off going their separate ways.
There have been rumors of the couple having problems in the past. In late 2012, rumors swirled that the Pirates of the Caribbean actor and the Victoria's Secret supermodel had split when Kerr was spotted without her wedding ring.
Yet, the recent confirmation of a split comes as a surprise for fans, because the pair seemed to be happy and united, with Kerr constantly gushing about her beau's name in lights as he made his Broadway debut for Shakespeare's Romeo And Juliet.
Kerr gushed in the November issue of Cosmopolitan, "When I saw Orlando on Broadway in Romeo and Juliet, I was blown away, for someone to be able to learn all that and hold the energy to do it every day, six days a week — I have so much respect for him."
However, their last public appearance together was in late September at the show's opening night after party, which was held at The Edison Ballroom. It may have been opening night for Bloom's Broadway show, but the curtain had closed on his marriage.
According to E! News, the separation was announced by a rep for Bloom.
The rep said, "In a joint statement, Orlando Bloom and Miranda Kerr have announced that they have been amicably separated for the past few months."
"After six years together, they have recently decided to formalize their separation."
"Despite this being the end of their marriage, they love, support and respect each other as both parents of their son and as family."
The Australian model had even relocated to New York to ensure that geographical distance did not put stress on their relationship.
Kerr had even denied rumors of any trouble in paradise when she revealed to Australian magazine The Sunday Style at the end of August, "Yeah, I don't even know where some of these stories come from. It's quite comical."
"It is what it is. It's all part of the job, I guess. People say what they want. At the end of the day, we don't really need to prove anything to anyone."
The pair have been together since 2007 and were married three years later. During their six-year relationship, they did appear to be a very beautiful and happy little family. At least reports have suggested that the former A-list couple have decided to split amicably because they share a son, Flynn, 2.
Heartbreak is never easy, especially when there is a child involved, and we wish Bloom and Kerr all the best during their future endeavors.
