His father owned a trucking company and his mother was a family counselor. Often described as one of the world's most attractive men, with his blond locks, bold blue eyes and square jaw, he's also gifted, charitable and a phenomenal father.

In 1997, John Malkovich approached him for a role, and Bardem turned it down because his English was still poor, but they ended up working together in 2002. He has a penchant for characters dark and grim, and he won an Academy Award for his work in No Country for Old Men.
Brad Pitt: He's banned from China (they didn't like that he played the Dalai Lama's friend in Seven Years in Tibet); although not completely fluent, he speaks Japanese; and he has a pilot's license.
Javier Bardem: He doesn't drive (he doesn't like "turning"); he needed money and worked as a stripper for 10 minutes (his mother was in the audience!); and he was the first Spanish actor ever to be nominated for an Academy Award.

He's been with Angelina Jolie since 2005 and the couple have six children together: Maddox, Pax, Zahara, Shiloh, Knox and Vivienne. Speculations arose earlier this month when Jolie was spotted with a new ring on her wedding finger that the pair secretly married.
