Did you know that Matthew Perry was dating Lizzy Caplan for six years? Even if you knew this celebrity news, did you know the couple broke up back in 2012?

The former Friends star is notoriously private about his personal life. He began dating the Masters of Sex actress back in 2006. It's hard to find photos of the couple together because they didn't attend movie premieres or other red carpet events as a pair.

An insider told Us Weekly when the duo split, "It happened a year and a half ago. They haven't been together for a long time."

Caplan has been making the press rounds promoting her new Showtime series and the question about Perry rarely came up during the interviews. The U.K.'s Independent did question the former Mean Girls star about her now ex-boyfriend, but she deflected the question with an interesting response.

She said, "I can stand right next to paparazzi, and I do that sometimes. I'm close with people who are far more famous, and they know how to avoid attention."
