"We are so thrilled to announce our engagement and can't wait to celebrate with our friends and family, including our second family at Once Upon a Time," the couple told People.
Goodwin and Dallas met on the set of the show, but didn't announce their relationship until April 2012.
"They were shooting in Canada together," a source told E! News, "and because they were both away from home, they inevitably started to socialize together off the set as well as on — and they got closer as friends."
Dallas was married to Sherlock actress Lara Pulver when he met Goodwin, but the couple called it quits in 2011. Goodwin was previously engaged to Super Troopers actor Joey Kern, but broke off that engagement around the same time. She has also previously dated American Pie's Chris Klein.
He and Goodwin began to get closer around the time of his divorce and her split from Kern.
"It hit me like a blinding light," Dallas said at the time. "I thought, 'I'm in trouble now.'"
Since announcing their relationship, the couple appear to have been in a whirlwind romance. The engagement apparently couldn't come soon enough.
"The relationship has been full-on since the moment it turned romantic," the source told E! News. "And they spend every moment together. There was no reason to wait and take it slow — they fell in love, and it feels right."
Besides the wedding planning and Once Upon a Time, Goodwin will also be seen soon in National Geographic's Killing Kennedy, opposite Rob Lowe.
Goodwin and Dallas have not yet announced a wedding date.
