The children of Casey Kasem are being kept away by his wife who is in a big continuous fight with the ill '80s music personality's kids.
Suffering from advanced Parkinson's disease, the 81-year-old former radio host is said to be deteriorating in health and his family would really like to see him. However, Kasem's wife, Jean Kasem, isn't letting them into the house she shares with her husband.
As a protest to not being allowed to visit their sick dad, family members have camped outside his and Jean's estate, parading with picket signs up and down the driveway.
One of Kasem's daughters from his first marriage to Linda Myers, Kerri Kasem, told Los Angeles' ABC7 station that her stepmom won't answer the door or phone calls made by her and siblings Mike and Julie.
"He can't really speak, but he knows we're there," Kerri said, "And last time we saw him, he could shuffle a bit. He had a hard, very hard, time walking. He was just deteriorating due to Parkinson's disease."
Kasem's brother, Mouner Kasem, fears he may never get so say goodbye to him. "I've got a feeling I might not see him again, and that's why I'm here," he said.
According to Kasem's kids, they don't have a good relationship with Jean, who's been married to the Top 40 host since 1980. No reason for the feud has been given, but it's rumored it may have to do with inheritance money.
However, Kerri claims that the desire to see their ailing father has nothing to do with inheriting his fortune. "We don't want to see him go and not say goodbye and not love him and not support him. We don't know how long he has."
The kids also spoke with the New York Daily News and told them that "there is no money issue here," and they just want to see their dad. "We love him, and everyone knows his kids and grandkids are a source of joy for him."
The family claims they haven't seen Kasem since April of this year and it's all because Jean won't let them near him.
Kasem and Jean have one mutual daughter together, singer-songwriter Liberty, who apparently isn't publicly involved in the feud.
Meanwhile, according to TMZ, Jean has recently been involved in a lawsuit where she sued a painting company for $80,000 because they did a bad paint job on the 12,000-square-foot mansion back in 2012. The house is currently on sale for $30 million.
