Daniel Radcliffe reveals how the sex scenes in his new film may shock fans

Since the Harry Potter franchise ended, Daniel Radcliffe has ensured he breaks his child star mold and has tackled many challenging and artsy films.

However, Radcliffe took a radical step in his latest role in the indie biopic Kill Your Darlings, where he stars as poet Allen Ginsberg.

Radcliffe told Total Film magazine, "I felt like I was breaking new ground. Most actors grow up doing a lot of small movies and then get something big, but I started on the biggest film in the world."

"So it's an experience that I haven't had. I'm sure some people will be slightly... err... startled by the gay sex scene though."

It is roles such as this one that have ensured Radcliffe breaks away from the Harry Potter tag and revolutionized his reputation, ensuring that he is taken as a serious young actor.

Now that we are all thinking of just how graphic these scenes in Kill Your Darlings will be, the 24-year-old actor ensured fans the scenes are more emotional than they are graphic. Whew!

Radcliffe added, "It's actually not graphic. You don't actually see anything. What's graphic is the emotion of the scene."

"It's a very vulnerable, slightly afraid moment. It's beautiful and tender as a consequence of that."

While Radcliffe is willing to surprise people with the bold characters he chooses to portray, one role he will not be tackling is the part of Freddie Mercury in the upcoming biopic.

Radcliffe told Empire magazine, "Everyone on the internet who I presume is saying I'm totally wrong for that part is correct. I am completely wrong for that part!"
