It's hard to believe that Jessica Alba had body image issues. The actress, author, wife and mother of two is gorgeous from head to toe. But in the latest issue of Health magazine (via People), she reveals she didn't always feel that way.
Alba claimed that she spent more time unhappy with her body than loving it. "I was a lot more critical of my body when it was probably pretty awesome," she said. "Why did I not ever wear jean shorts? That's so crazy. I was so skinny. I didn't have any cellulite… what was I thinking?"
Years ago, when Alba was at her pinup peak, she wanted to hide herself. Ironically, these days she feels the best about her body. "I was more willing to wear short skirts after I had my kids. I never wore them before. Ever. I was so self-conscious," Alba explained. "Now I'm a lot more confident in my skin — because who cares? At the end of the day, it's so much time spent on something that really doesn't matter that much."
Kids will do that to you. They'll make you focus on what's really important. Family, happiness and health should always be top priorities. But don't forget, Alba also takes care of herself. She eats well and kicks off each day with a veggie-filled smoothie. She also avoids processed foods by eating clean.
