Good things are happening for Evan Ross. He has a hot girlfriend and now a hot role in the hit franchise The Hunger Games.

Evan Ross joins the cast of The Hunger Games: Mockingjay

Evan Ross has a lot going right for him at the moment. He is dating one of the hottest blond singers, Ashlee Simpson, and he can now add a role in the forthcoming movie The Hunger Games: Mockingjay, which just about every teen is counting down the days until the release.

The 90210 actor will play Messalla in the final two installments of the hit fantasy adventure franchise of which Jennifer Lawrence plays the star role.

Lionsgate has confirmed that Ross will be joining the cast, and that his character Messalla has been adapted from The Hunger Games novels by Suzanne Collins.

Ross will star as a member of the camera crew, who captures valuable footage of Lawrence's character, Katniss Everdeen, as she leads a rebellion against the powerful Capitol.

Messalla is an assistant to filmmaker Cressida, who is set to be played by Game of Thrones actress Natalie Dormer.

Production on the final two movies will begin this year for release in November 2014 and November 2015 respectively, and we certainly cannot wait for the star-studded lineup!

Ross will be joined by several new actors to fill the roles in The Hunger Games: Mockingjay Part 1 and Part 2, including Australian actress Stef Dawson, who is set to play the character of Annie Cresta. Josh Hutcherson, Liam Hemsworth and Lawrence will once again lead the cast!

While we eagerly await the release of The Hunger Games: Mockingjay Part 1 and Part 2, we can at least look forward to the second movie in the series, The Hunger Games: Catching Fire, which director Francis Lawrence is set to direct. It is due out for release in November.
