Rumors of the wedding first surfaced when a friend posted a photo of the couple’s wedding cake.
Hunger Games fans may not yet recognize Claflin, since his character won’t make his appearance until the upcoming The Hunger Games: Catching Fire, as tribute Finnick Odair. But fans probably will recognize Claflin from other roles.
He has also starred in Snow White and the Hunstman alongside Kristen Stewart and Pirates of the Caribbean: On Stranger Tides.
"We can confirm that Sam Claflin and Laura Haddock are married," Claflin’s rep told Us Weekly.
The actors have been engaged for nearly two years, and have spoken about each other multiple times.
"How do I know she's the one?" Claflin said in May 2012, according to Us Weekly. "She's my female counterpart is the best way to describe her. She is my mum. She reminds me of my mum so much which I think — a guy will know, right? It's important. Your mum knows like everything."
The Hunger Games star met Haddock in an audition, and knew immediately she was his match.
"I called my agent, I said, 'Mate, I am in love,'" the actor said. "He's like, 'How did the audition go, mate?' I was like, 'No, no, you don't understand. I have just met the woman I want to marry.'"
Haddock feels the same about her new husband, and told Empire magazine early in 2013 that the pin-up status he is likely to gain with The Hunger Games is somewhat of a joke, to both of them.
"Well, he is very sexy," Haddock said. "But he's really not very serious. You know, he looks gorgeous in that film. But if you said that to him, he'd say, 'What? Me? I'm from Norwich!'"
The Hunger Games: Catching Fire released a new trailer earlier in July. The film will be in theaters Nov. 22, 2013.
