Stacy Keibler is an accomplished 33-year-old. She started as a WWE and WCW wrestler, but transitioned into full-time acting back in 2007. After a recent breakup, she is only looking to the future. She sat down with SheKnows to talk about her life, her new show, and getting America to eat healthy.
Keibler is returning this year as the host of Lifetime's Supermarket Superstar. The show lets "food entrepreneurs" pitch their products to food industry experts. She loves the show because of how it helps out everyday America.
"I am so excited because we are making so many dreams come true," Keibler said. "It’s a really aspirational show and is really about giving someone all the tools they need to transform their dream into a reality."
Keibler is a natural fit for this show. She is passionate about cooking, and food, and it was easy to see herself helping others achieve their dreams.
"My mom sent me to cooking classes when I was really young, so that’s where my passion for food started," the actress explained. "I’m one of those people that there’s nothing that I really don’t like when it comes to food, so I am an adventurous eater. I love to try foods all around the world, I love to cook and I’m also developing my healthy food line, so this show is a natural fit."
Keibler said her favorite dish to make is "anything healthy," but her specialty is making everyday food healthy for everyday people. Her fitness routine goes hand in hand with her healthy eating.
"In the last couple months I’ve tried experimenting with and eliminating certain things in my diet and not working out," Keibler said. "I have to say that hands down that I had the most results through that, and it really taught me that you are what you eat. I’m really passionate about trying to educate people on the food that they are eating and the ingredients on the label and really trying to have everyone wrap their heads around all the things that are processed and chemicals in food."
Keibler is helping to create that reality on her new show, and she has a food-related dream of her own.
"My dream come true would be that we would have a society in America where it wouldn’t be so expensive for people to eat healthy," Keibler said. "And it would be accessible and cost effective to everyone to be able to feed themselves and their family healthy food and everyone would feel better and be happier."
Supermarket Superstar premieres Monday, July 22, at 10/9c on Lifetime.
