Move over, Christian Bale and Hugh Jackman: There's a new method actor in town — and it's not who you're expecting.
Parks and Recreation star Chris Pratt showed off his ripped body — complete with serious six-pack abs — on Instagram on Monday.
"Six months no beer," he captioned the shirtless shot. "Kinda douchey to post this but my brother made me."
The new dad is getting stacked to star in the upcoming Marvel adaption Guardians of the Galaxy with Zoe Saldana. It's not the first time he's lost serious weight for roles, though: He dropped down to 220 pounds for Moneyball, immediately gained the weight back to star in 10 Years and then lost it again to star as a Navy SEAL in Zero Dark Thirty.
The 34-year-old then shot up to 300 pounds last fall to film the comedy Delivery Man (the English-language version of the French Canadian film Starbuck) — and it sounds like he enjoyed every minute of it.
"I just like to gain weight and lose weight," he told Vulture last year, adding that his wife, Anna Faris, doesn't mind because he bulks up with healthy foods and "super-gross but pretty tasty" protein shakes.
That's not to say he didn't enjoy beer and burgers while at it.
"I will hit a couple of burgers like it’s laced with crack cocaine. Oooh, I love it," he added to Vulture.
Dropping the weight doesn't sound as fun, but he revels in it. "It’s a roller coaster. I just want to do this. I want to touch God," he joked.
It's a good gig — if you get can get it.
