The Recipe Doctor -- I'll call myself The Recipe Doctor, as although I am a culinary school graduate and have experience in nearly all aspects of the culinary world, my true love is recreating a recipe and sharing it with my friends and family. I have a blog called My Little Table, www.mylittletableny.com. You will find many photos of my recipes there, as well.
Essentially, I have had the great fortune to be able to taste incredible and inspiring food all over the world and from amazing chefs. I worked on the Food Team for the Martha Stewart Show and was able to eat fabulous food from the most acclaimed chefs. However, these dishes usually included ingredients that were extremely hard to find and the recipe process was usually lengthy and complicated. I've found tips, tricks, and substitutions to bring professional and global inspiration home and make it accessible to everyone. Nothing pleases me more when someone says "I had the best dinner the other night, how do you think I could do that at home?" To name just a few, I've recreated Sprinkles's famous strawberry cupcakes for a friend's daughter's birthday party, made a more healthful and economical version of David Bouley's Truffle Popcorn by using truffle butter instead of shaved truffles, and I've most recently recreated a fabulous Sweet Sesame Broccolini Salad from London's Ottolenghi. I tasted the best soup I had ever put in my mouth at Brooklyn's Parish Hall and, after a few tries and a couple of necessary substitutions, was able to get something pretty darn close if I do say so myself. Even my Irish Catholic, Meat and Potato loving father cleaned his bowl, and the soup was Cold Sweet Corn with Blackberries, Basil, and Walnut Oil... not exactly his usual choice. There is nothing I love more than showing loved ones just how easy it is to be a hero! Check out some of my recipes here »
