I’m Harvey Morris (aka Windy City Prince). I grew up cooking in the kitchen and helping my Mom, especially around the holidays or after school. My first paying job in high school was working in the kitchen of a local restaurant. Back then, the position was called assistant head cook. But the foodie culture has changed since then; today that position would be called sous chef.
I really love cooking, and especially baking. But I HATE doing dishes and I’m a bit A.D.D. So I like simple recipes that focus on high-quality ingredients, rich flavors and that don’t make a mess in the kitchen!
I like tinkering with recipes. I’ve got a knack for taking a recipe, breaking it down to the simplest terms, and changing up the ingredients and textures to create a unique flavor experience. Nothing fancy, but really flavorful.
In 2007, I launched a blog, called Baked Chicago in homage to the city that takes good food and innovation very seriously, as way to share these recipes and ideas.
