I'm a freelance journalist, blogger, fictionist, copywriter, video-maker and aspiring cyber-performance artist raised in Michigan and based in the San Francisco Bay Area. My work has appeared in eight books, magazines including Marie Claire, GO!, Interlude and Curve, and all over the web including Jezebel.com, Nerve.com, OurChart and Suspect Thoughts.
I founded Autostraddle.com in March 2009 and since then have been featured in GO! Magazine's 100 Women We Love in 2010, been a finalist in the Curvy Awards for Best Blogger and Best Lesbian Website, won Best New Blog (2009 Lezzies) and Best Lesbian Website (Sisters Talk Radio).
Prior to starting Autostraddle I kept a personal blog, "This Girl Called Automatic Win" for three years, recapping for The L Word Online and hosting Showtime’s Lezberado. TCGAW received many dubious honors including Best Personal Blog (2008 Lezzies), Best LGBT Blog nominee (2008 Webblog Awards) and Hottest Bloggers 2008.
I enjoy eating foods, riding my bike, having big ideas, reading books & talking to my stuffed dog, Tinkerbell. I graduated from the University of Michigan in 2003 with honors increative writing and a lot of credit card debt.
Autostraddle is now the world's most popular independently owned lesbian website.
