Shares delicious and savory Japanese home cook recipe on Just One Cookbook. Back in 2007, I was going through recipes one afternoon from different cookbooks, clippings from magazines, and my scribbled notes to figure out what to cook for dinner that day. Looking at my collection of unorganized recipes, I realized I should figure out a way to file and store them all. I started on the project by typing up my recipes in Japanese, then in 2010 I started to translate them into English. In January 2011, the collection of the recipes has slowly evolved to a website where I can enjoy recipes with family and friends who share my love of cooking and eating. So here I am, being a bit technologically challenged, trying to make just one cookbook of the Chen Family recipes. If you are a first time visitor, please browse Food Gallery to see what kind of food I’m making. I hope you will enjoy trying out my recipes and I would appreciate any comments and feedback you may have.
About NamiMy name is Namiko Chen. My family and friends call me Nami. I am the author of Just One Cookbook and all the food you see in this website are prepared and photographed by me. I was born and raised in Yokohama, Japan and now live in the SF Bay Area with my Taiwanese American husband and 2 beautiful children (my son is 5 and my daughter is 3 years old).I learned cooking from my mom at a young age. She cooked for us every night and I still get very excited when I visit my home in Japan because I can eat her delicious meals. Now that I have kids, I wish to do the same for my own family. Having good food on the table always brings family together and easily invites conversation. As a mom, wife, and friend, I hope to create a cozy home atmosphere for my family and friends.Organizing my recipes in this website is going to be my lifelong project and I hope to share the joy with you. Thanks for your kind support!
