A woman's heart advocate and author of the next bestselling book, A Women’s Heart Attack: What Your Doctor May Not Tell You. Becoming an advocate and writing a book about women and heart attacks is not what Dori envisaged for her future. After three consecutive heart attacks and a fourth, looming like a dark cloud Dori made it her goal to find out the reason(s) she was having the attacks. She was stunned after one doctor told her that she will probably just go home and have another heart attack, but we do not know why.
This was her wakeup call! She needed to act swiftly because another heart attack was the last thing she wanted. Still weak, but determined, she set her mind to understand the reason why the attack were occurring. Dori shares her life with you and empowers you to take control of your body, mind and spirit and transform your life. At her last cardiovascular visit, her doctor said, “You’ve completely healed yourself! I can see no evidence that you have had a heart attack!”
Dori is on a personal mission to educate women and bring awareness to the number one killer of women worldwide-Heart Disease. One in three women has cardiovascular disease. A woman dies nearly every minute. We all need to help each other and spread the word.
Dori currently resides in Norway.
Living the California dream, Dori had a bit of a shock one day when her husband of 15 years, Kurt, who left Norway many years before, came home and announced that he was homesick. “Can you believe that he wanted to leave sunny California and our beautiful custom home on two acres for Sirevaag, Norway?” she exclaimed.
At the time she was in a Doctoral Program working on her Ph.D. in clinical psychology before she moved to Norway. She has been a successful Clinical Hypnotherapist, Emergency Medical Technician, an EMT 1A Defibrillator, SAP HR-trained technologist, published author, negotiator of business and government contracts, and had extensive IT experience. Dr. Dori Naerbo’s educational background is equally diverse, with extensive science, business and technology studies. A Californian by birth, she first received a business degree before being accepted into the accelerated Master/Ph.D. graduate program at the California Institute of Human Science. Since she was new to Norway, she put her love of medicine aside and decided to focus on corporate business while she learned Norwegian. She switched her degree from clinical psychology to organizational psychology. She holds a Ph.D. in organizational psychology and MSc in Clinical Research from the University of Liverpool. Although she had a dream job working for one of the BIG 5 consulting companies, fate had other plans that would bring her back to medicine.
Today Dr. Dori Naerbo is a heart advocate, author, and consultant.
