In grade nine, I was "called" to study and train to be a teacher. Following that goal until I was over 50, lead me to attaining three degrees. At Western Washington College I earned a B.Ed and a B.A., specializing in secondary school teaching. My minors were modern dance, art and philosophy. For over twenty years I taught Acting, Video production, English, Honors.
With a group of like-minded individuals, we created the Vernon Dance Centre in British Columbia. I served on the boards of Dramafest and on the board for the Okanagan Film Festival Society for over eight years. As a volunteer in the community, I was appointed to the City of Kelowna's Arts Foundation as a founding member.
My interest in writing and music has lead me to write articles for the B.C. Musician Magazine.
After a close call with cancer and a debilitating time with Rheumatoid Arthritis, I walked away from my "calling" and started what I call my second life. I am now a full-time visual artist and writer.
