I've been a writer all my life, but these days I tend to write mainly about parenting, adoption, and child welfare. My essays have appeared in The Sun Magazine, Adoptive Families, The Huffington Post, and Motherlode at The New York Times. At Be Bold or Go Home, my blog for Adoptive Families Circle, the social networking arm of Adoptive Families magazine, I discuss the challenges of transracial adoptive parenting, and at Whatever Things Are True, I cover international adoption politics, policy, and parenting. My work can also be found at Mama Manifesto, a general audience parenting website. Previously, I spent two years as a contributor at to the Silicon Valley Moms Blog, named one of the Top 50 Mom Blogs by Babble in 2010, prior to its acquisition by Technorati Media. In February 2013, launched Peace Love Write, a personal blog to help me concentrate on the things in life that mean the most to me.
