Mom, wife, first grandmother, and adoption reform activist.
Our oldest daughter was 19 when she became pregnant. Like anyone facing an unplanned pregnancy, she was scared and unsure she could parent. We researched adoption before the birth of her daughter; however, the information about the overwhelming grief first mothers experience after relinquishment and the psychological and emotional consequences of adoption for the adoptee is not widely publicized. We helped our daughter with the decision with no factual information about these consequences. I am blogging to help inform others of the consequences of adoption.
