My first 18 years were in Brazil, then 4 in Minnesota, 20 in Chicago and Kentucky has been home since 2005. I've made things since I was young. I sew, embroider, quilt, bead, and worked with clay. But, since 1988, my primary focus has been as an entrepreneur with handicrafts from around the world. I'm especially interested in finding common ground between different cultures, in preserving small scale production opportunities for artisans, and in green, eco, fair trade, and recycled products. My blog focuses on fiber products, although I love them all. It's a point of departure to speak about cultures, techniques, aesthetics, and other issues. Guest authors are welcomed.
I live in Paducah, Kentucky with 4 dogs and 11 birds. My husband is a Moroccan chef, currently working in Chicago (Jobs are not easy to find here in Paducah...) Come visit!
