My memoir Peking to Paris: Life & Love on a Short Drive Around Half the World, is in bookstores now! But it didn't start that way. After a successful career in software services, I left the field and moved to a working hay and cattle ranch high in the Colorado Rockies, near the Wyoming border. What did I know about ranching? As a New York girl who grew up in a bedroom community of Manhattan and went to private school in Riverdale, I can honestly say, nothing. What do I know about ranching now? Lots. I blog about my life on the ranch, the people I've come to respect and love in this remote rural community of 1400 souls in 2400 square miles, the wildlife and animalsl, and the many situations that frustrate me or fill me with joy.
I leave the ranch to travel in remote places; usually there's a car involved in the trip. I share some of those stranger-than-fiction stories here, and on my website: www.dinabennett.net.
