Because I get up so early during the work week, on the weekends I try to stay in bed curled up and warm, for as long as I can. The girls usually come in sometime around 8am, crawl into our bed and watch TV. I took off this past Friday, so when the girls woke up Lily came into my room, got in bed and we snuggled for a little while before she got ready for school.
We were talking about the upcoming weekend and the plans we were having with some new friends Saturday night, that she was anxiously anticipating. The girls love when we have dinner parties because they always stretch for hours and hours, and are accompanied by massive amounts of a variety of foods which ends with delicious desserts.
More importantly when we are entertaining and having a wonderful time, we are not counting how many treats are being slipped past us from the kitchen to be consumed in a more remote location in the house.
Anyway, as we lay there talking about the fun we were going to have, she just looked off and said "wouldn't life be so great if you could rewind the good parts and just fast forward the bad ones?"
And I answered back "yes, baby it would" and I hugged her little seven-year-old soul even tighter. I always marvel at the thoughts that she conjures up and am so blessed to be on the receiving end of them.
