Spend Less Save More: Stockpiles and Exporation Dates

What do you do with the big haul you have to start or add to your stockpile? Recently my kids noticed it was hard for them to find the dates we marked on boxes with a marker that we changed up the way we keep track of expiration dates.

We bought those round sticky tabs and placed a number on them say 1- January 8 – August and so on this way they simply have to look for the sticker to know what items must be used first. Cans are often the hardest to mark so stickers really work well for this and they stand out since all we are looking for is a number the stickers are inexpensive. We still have our stockpile list and we know what’s in our pantry as well as our needs when we run out, but this little sticker has helped out a great deal this summer.

*Keep a wipe board or stockpile list in your pantry or refrigerator to write down when you run out or are running low on an item it makes shopping list easier. Visit www.where2save.com for more tips and freebies.
