Fingertip I hold these truths to be self-evident, that all parents and kids are not created equally, but are wholly individual in personality and style. Regardless of these differences, the basic needs of love, patience and support remain constant. Here are the weekly affirmations, tips and reminders. Unless otherwise noted, these are entirely my opinion. Take them with a grain of salt, or not!

"No one knows the color of a soul."

~Wicked by Gregory Maguire

While there are many great lines from Wicked, both the book and the musical, and a wealth of deeper and double meanings in the text. What I took away from Wicked, The Musical was that we all need to remember not to judge based on how someone or something looks on the outside or what the popular majority says something means or is. No, we must make a point to talk to people different from ourselves, learn about different political views, different religions, different cultures, countries, beliefs, views… And we must teach our children to do the same. It is easy to assume, it is easy to join the popular view, and it is difficult to stand apart for what is true and what is good. But it is the right thing to do. Be true to yourself. Defy Gravity….

It's Friday…. Go eat some chocolate. It's good for you, and you deserve it!
