Fingertip I hold these truths to be self-evident, that all parents and kids are not created equally, but are wholly individual in personality and style. Regardless of these differences, the basic needs of love, patience and support remain constant. Here are the weekly affirmations, tips and reminders. Unless otherwise noted, these are entirely my opinion. Take them with a grain of salt, or not!

Because time itself is like a spiral, something special happens on your birthday each year:  The same energy that God invested in you at birth is present once again.

~Menachem Mendel Schneerson

I once read that you should send your mom flowers on your birthday because the day is just as special, if not more special, to her. I did not really understand this until I had children of my own. The birth and life of a child is truly a miraculous event and cause for celebration. Our family likes to observe birthdays for at least two weeks: the one leading up to the birthday and the week after the birthday. And we eat birthday cake for breakfast on the day after someone's birthday.

It's Friday…. Go eat some chocolate (or birthday cake). It's good for you, and you deserve it!
