Measuring Success As A Parent

What is Success? Is it a demanding job that keeps you away from your family and friends? Or is it money in the bank that you don’t have time to spend? This cookie cutter template our society strives to obtain isn’t what real success is, at least not to me!

I consider it successful when I get the pots and pans washed the same time as the dishes. Yes, I would love to have a spotless home, a full time job demanding my time, or a bank account not in the red, but then I would miss out on the little things that count: Soccer Games on Saturday Morning, Baking Cookies, or Dancing in the Park! These are the memories that my children will remember forever. Yes, it is important to display a good work ethic, but it is just as important to show them the nurture and love of a parent.

How Do You Measure Your Success?
