Last weekend my daughter and I decided to go on a hike. I hadn't hiked in months because of a broken pinky toe (which STILL hurts). Anyway, we girls had such a great time. She's not quite 4 so we took it nice and easy. We looked at the funny green bus, the clock tower, "Mr. Obama's house," the train, our car and had fun watching things appear smaller and smaller the higher we climbed.
We took a little break at the "M" (a large concrete M embedded on the mountain) and enjoyed a cookie and some water.
We held hands the entire way down. Some of the switchbacks are pretty steep and slick! Despite the cool & cloudy conditions we had a great time. We met Daddy at the health food market for lunch and then relaxed the rest of the day.
Hiking is a great way to get kids excited about the outdoors and introduce them to endurance activities. I need to get out and do this more often - it's such good exercise and it's so good for the soul!
