Last week, Eric and I started planning our dinners for the week ahead. I was inspired by this post on BlogHer to meal plan in order to save money. I also wanted to try it to add variety to our meals, since deciding what to make for dinner at 5:00 p.m. always results in one of three meals: pasta and meatballs; frozen pizza; or chicken breasts and rice. These are all pretty good meals but not when they’re the only three currently in rotation.
We did pretty well for our first week! We adhered to the plan on Monday, Wednesday, and Thursday. On Tuesday, we got caught up in household stuff and decided the fondue would take too long. Instead, we did more or less a repeat of Monday’s meal.
Eric and I weren’t home for dinner Friday so my dinner that night was a big bowl of white rice and Eric’s was a couple granola bars. Friday was not a successful eating day, clearly.
Planning for this week I made sure to consider our weekly plans more and take into account how much time chores and other activities take at night.
