End of the month review and March savings.
As savers we keep track of not just what we spend and save on our grocery bills in order to transfer those savings into tangible savings we itemize our monthly expenses from utility bills to any charge accounts, savings, and miscellaneous expenses dining out , unexpected expenses so on. It’s important to review each bill making sure you are not being over charged and to see if there is a place such as your phone or satellite bill where expenses can be trimmed. Most importantly as we’ve learned with the recent security breaches at some of our favorite stores we must keep a close eye on the bank, debit and credit card statements to ensure that there are no unexplained charges on these accounts. Act quickly once you do notice or the issue may affect your credit and bank account.
Cutting expenses is not always an option for some so instead of cutting you may decide to scale back maybe not go out as much or decide only to make cash purchases so you’re not paying the interest on purchases. If you set a goal to save for a big purchase then you have to decide to add to a savings account using the 52 week challenge is always helpful and has been to me. If you haven’t begun it’s simple just catch-up by adding week 8 =$36.00 to your savings account and week9= $45.00 next week and week10=$55.00 the next and so on at the end of the 52 weeks year you will have $1,378.00 and that’s a savings account that you can count on for say Christmas shopping or a perfect emergency fund. If you are up to date you should have $36.00 in your savings account as of today.
