Today I took my kids to Chick-Fil-A.  We love us some Chick-Fil-A any day of the week!  But as all of you know, today was special, for many reasons.  First of all, as a Christian, then as a citizen of the United States and third as a mom.

Typically, I don’t ask the political affiliations of any restaurant or store that I choose to shop at.  I shop somewhere because I like the food, the prices or the product and hopefully all the above.  But today, I did choose to eat somewhere because my family and I felt it was the right thing to do.  Christians are getting bashed from every direction.  Can you feel the bumps and bruises?  Think about it.  How many towns are outlawing nativity scenes?  Pastors being arrested for holding Bible studies in the their home?  Schools

can’t have prayer, Christmas parties or pageants.  And God forbid if you say Merry Christmas in a a store!  I think you get the picture.

I remember a time here in the South no too long ago, when it was expected that you would speak your mind.  It’s a part of our heritage, done with a little sugar on top of course.  You didn’t have to agree with the person, but you had enough respect to

allow them to say it.  You could disagree passionately, but respectfully and end the conversation as a friends agreeing to disagree.  Where did that go?  Then I thought, when did Christians give up their voice?  When did it become not ok to say “I’m a Christian and this is what I believe.”?  That’s all Dan Cathy did; he expressed the belief of the company.

It doesn’t mean you have to agree with it; it is what it is, the belief of a company.  You don’t have to agree with it, they didn’t ask you to.
I happen to believe it and be in full support of their stand as marriage as a man and a woman and what the Bible says.  But does that make me a hater?
