Wednesday, January 22, 2014 Do you have a bad temper? How often do you lose your temper?
I’m generally an even tempered person. When I was younger, I would let people walk all over me to avoid confrontation. As I grew older, I stopped being a doormat, but would still try my best to avoid confrontation. One would have to make me very angry before my temper would rise. Once my children came along, I had grown a lot of backbone. The few times that I let my temper show, was when someone messed with one of my children or with my mother. I would take until the point that one made me cry, and when one made me cry, they best run and hide, because I have no control when it starts. If you are in the line of fire, you are going to get hit. Afterwards, I would be sick for several days. The last time I let my anger loose, was at a teacher who told my youngest daughter that her family must be ignorant to allow her to have a certain boy of color, as a friend. I was on him before he knew what to think. He had failed to make the connection of me and my daughter, because we had different last names. The teacher was gone within two weeks; transferred out of county. That was about 8 years ago, and my daughter is still friends with the boy in question and he has made a nice life for himself; attending college, landing a good job, and living on his own. I try to keep my temper under control, because, yes, it can be bad.
