One of the most special holidays in our hearts is Mother’s Day. This is a day that we can celebrate our wonderful moms and have our kids shower us with love…we hope. Here is a simple DIY recipe that any child can do, with a little help from dad, to surprise their mom on this love filled day.
Chocolate covered Strawberries and pretzels. They are delicious, not too bad for your diet as it is mostly fruit and they are easy to make. Even if your husband or child isn’t a baker or a chef they can “wow” you with these delectable treats. You can print this recipe and leave it on their desk or in their room with a smiley face…hint, hint.
- 1/2 Bakers semi sweet chocolate bar
- 1 pint of strawberries
- 1/4 cup salted and roasted peanuts
- 10 small pretzels
- Get out a cutting board, wash and cut the leaves off the strawberries. Melt the Bakers semi sweet chocolate bar in the microwave for about 1-2 minutes. (It should turn into gooey chocolate when you stir it.) Place the peanuts in a sealed ziplock bag and pound them. (They should be crushed but not too much.) Pour crushed nuts into a small bowl. Dip the strawberries into the melted chocolate and allow the excess to run off. Roll gently into the peanuts. Place on wax paper or on a Styrofoam plate. You can leave some without peanuts if you just want the chocolate. Do the same with the small pretzels. Place entire plate into the refrigerator for 5-6 minutes. Place the strawberries and pretzels on a nice plate and serve!
