Blogs With Elf on the Shelf Ideas

So many elves, so many shelves. The holiday tradition has some bloggers hating the Elf on the Shelf, others totally loving their elves, still others inspired to do something wildly creative with their elves every day, and at least one blogger concerned about Watchie's self-esteem. Here, some of the best blogs with ideas for the watchful elf we've seen this year.

A Mom With a Lesson Plan

Inspired by her kids' logistical questions about the Elf's travels, Jillian and family crafted an Elf on the Shelf care package including wee snacks and the cutest, tiniest scarf and mittens. Awwww.

Make Bake Celebrate

What could be more adorable than Sprinkles decked out in a personalized apron and baking her own Elf on the Shelf Cookies with the smallest cookie cutter ever? The teeny-tiny, gorgeously decorated cookies themselves (bet those were a challenge to create, too). Kudos, Toni!

Keep Writing … Keep Writing…

Lori Romano is posting her creative elf-hiding ideas daily, with amazing photos and great stories in each post. So far, Cosette the Elf has had an epic snowball fight with the Toy Story crew, starred in a dog rodeo, and raided the leftover Halloween candy. Cosette, you win Elf of the Year.

The Dose of Reality

On the other hand, you don't have to go all-out with the Elf for it to be a family tradition. In the very funny Lazy Mom's Guide to the Elf on the Shelf, Ashley says, "I find myself doing what I always do. Just putting Little Elf somewhere and calling it a night. His magnetic hands do allow placement in some stranger places, but really, how many times is it acceptable to wake up to find the elf hanging from the chandelier? I mean without a naked Barbie or three alongside him to justify his swinging?"

Do you do the Elf on the Shelf? Are you blogging about it? (How's that going?) Let us know in the comments.
