I saw these sad looking banana's on my counter this morning...
Then I remembered that the sadder they look, the better they are supposed to be for making banana bread. Supposed to be. Cause how would I know, right? I've never made banana bread before in my life. What I did know, is that this far into their rapid decline my kids would never eat them, (can't say that I blame them...) so banana bread it was.
Except that I didn't have a recipe.
So like any great baker, I tried the first one that came up on a Google search. Most of my baked creations can trace their beginnings to the inside of a box... because if it weren't for Betty Crocker my baking pans would never get used.
So I asked this guy to help me
And he was more than eager to say the least! I mean, I know it's hard to tell from this picture and everything ;o)
He was the official banana peeler.
And like all great banana peelers, I can only imagine that they do taste better when you THROW them into the bowl. Cause that's what he did.
So we did some mixing...
And then some tasting...
Which looks like we passed the test!
And, if I don't say so myself... I think Jason and I did pretty delicious job of making this homemade banana bread from scratch! And no my baking dish isn't really gross and unwashed... the butter always burns, and since I let Jason use the stick of butter to grease the dish, I'm not at all surprised that there is burned butter on every square inch...all the way to the very tippy top :o)
