There are days...... my man surprises me;
There are days..... I'd like to knock his block off;
There are days..... I remember why I married him;
And there are those days..... that I simply think I was drunk when I got married;Then there are days like yesterday...... when my man totally surprises me!
You have to understand where I'm coming from.
My hubs and I married in 2004 at the ripe age of 36. My first marriage and my hubs second.
See, he was already damaged goods when I got him. Add over 21 years in the military (USAF) that included several tours to the "sandbox" and yet you have a more damaged man.
However, I still married him despite these flaws...... especially considering I was not perfect either.
Over the years, I've tried very hard to understand the way he thinks;
His lack of celebrating holidays;
His lack of emotions;
And lack of support.......... to me........... when I really need it.
And knowing damn well, if I was a military member.............. he'd be right there for me.
But somehow, I continue to love this man;
Hate this man;
Wish him to move out to shed;
Welcome him into my arms;
And thank the day he became my best friend;
The man I'll grow old with;
The one I'll have wheelchair races with;
or cane fights, at this rate.
Yes, Sometimes He Surprises Me
andI feel like the luckiest girl in the world! ;)
Happy Valentine's Day!!
