I'm not a big fan of trinkets that collect dust, and have no idea where any favor I have ever received at a wedding might be today, which is why I decided to skip that expense at my own wedding. Discussion boards reveal that I'm not alone. Lot's of couples on a tight budget are cutting back on the things they think nobody will miss so they can afford the food/music/venue they really want and the things that really make a party memorable.
I do love the idea of sharing a token of thanks with guests, however, and like the inventive alternative favors at weddings lately, favors that double as table decoration for instance. A recent search for "greener" wedding goods led me to the idea of seed bombs, or plantable favors, and the Etsy shop Cedar Wood Rustics, which will make them in the colors of your choice out of recycled paper and perrenial wildflower seeds. I love it! Your guests can remember your happy day by the flowers blooming in their yard year after year. Great idea! And with no packaging or waste of any kind, very eco-friendly.
So, thanks to Cedar Wood Rustics, I'm giving away a batch of 100 of these flower bombs to one lucky winner this month. They make a great gift or favor for lots of occassions, not just weddings! Stop by my blog sometime, Blue Collar Bride, and enter!
