- I am working on my PhD right now and juggling a baby and a husband. I held a Social Working position for two years while pursuing my doctorate so its safe to say that I'm an educated woman. BUT!Yes there is a huge But! I analyze myself daily and I know exactly how Tracie works, how Tracie thinks, and how Tracie reacts. I'm a realist. Job interviews are not the best settings for me to shine. lol The last interview I had was so horrible I didn't no whether to laugh or cry it was so funny and devastating. It was a phone interview. I know what you are thinking. Really? A phone interview? I can do that sitting on the toilet? Well, as I said before, job interviews are not the settings for me to shine, its like the clouds are hating on me.
- I won't go into the entire interview, but they asked whether I had any programming experience, which I've had but I think I suffered an anxiety attack or suffered a temporary stroke because just anythang fell out of my mouth. "I sponsored a Diva Day." Soon as the words Diva and Day fell out of my mouth I knew these people thought I was crazy. Then they wanted me to explain. OMG. They knew I sounded stupid, I knew I sounded stupid. I explained that "Diva Day" was a Friday appreciation day for the office. I decorated the tables pink and black and brought cakes and other sweets for us to snack on all day. I boosted morale and it gave all of the social workers an excuse to eat devil's food for eight hours. THEY WERE SPEECHLESS!!!Y'all, those people were ready to get off that phone so quick after that explanation. I don't blame them though. I will continue to practive. I do better in person. I'm from the deep south so I sound very different from what they are used to here in California. (Silly Southern Gal)
