If you are looking for upbeat positiveness, better skip this posting. Seeing the decrease in my paycheck after the new Social Security taxhike took a healthy bite was enough to send me below the line. Now I can't stop thinking about the upcoming Obamacare taxhike that is still on the way. The question must be asked, is it worth it??
I've always taken personal satisfaction in giving 110% on the job. Being a team player. My job reviews are flawless except for the fact that no one receives raises anymore including myself. So it must be postulated-is it really worth it?? Where is the motivation to continue pushing yourself to grow and evolve in the work place? It's going to be hard to continue on the verbal praise that is given, albeit freely and often. With gas prices predicted to rise along with almost everything else how do you fight the growing despair of a shrinking paycheck??
One must start with tightening the belt. In the past, on work days when both of us are exhausted, we have brought in or gone out for our supper, nothing fancy mind you. A $10 pizza or some burgers is all I am talking about. But now, it will become necessary to prepare dinners at home every night to conserve funds. Watching the sale ads even more closely will be paramount. I have couponed for years and will continue to do so.
I will be working on our tax return for the next couple of weeks to be ready to file when the W2s get here. This is a depressing time of year for me anyway until I hit the "Submit" button to electronically file. There is no reason to hope that the end result will be as good as it has been in the past.
