I read the free e-book, "What Matters Now," over the weekend, after letting it sit on my desktop for many, many months. http://adjix.com/4ynm Read it, even though it takes an hour or more from your day. It will change you.
Now I have to decide how to act on that change. Step one is taking a small action every day, so I am sharing it with others and reaching out to my friends and family to see what we might be able to do as a group to make a small, or big, change in the world. I can already hear my "lizard brain" (See Seth Godin's blog or book "Linchpin" for more on this http://sethgodin.typepad.com/ making fun of my feeble efforts, trying to stop me from sticking my neck out. But I hear a voice in my head (hello God) urging me to act, so here I am at 6am on a Monday (thanks for barking to go poop, Gracie).
I hope that by taking small steps, writing down my thoughts, reaching out, and just listening to the world around us, that I will see a path. If you would like to join me on this journey, let me know. This isn't just about me, I believe that what I need to do involves organizing a group in some way.
