Trying To Quit Saving Money

I like to think of myself as a savvy shopper. Here's why:

1. I always clip coupons from the paper/magazines.
2. I have a little coupon book I keep them all in and that goes with me everywhere.
3. I always check for printable coupons before I head out to the stores.
4. I always check for coupon codes before buying online.
5. I use ebates whenever possible to get a littlle money back on a purchase.
6. I go to my favorite websites and sign up for their e-mail blasts so I am aware of any special deals or coupon offers.
7. I subscribe to every blog I can find that deals with coupons, offers, savings and smart shopping.

And THAT, my friends, is why I spend so much money. Might sound counterintuitive, but here is what's happening:

If I see the deal, I have to get it. Even if I don't need to go to Ulta for anything, that $3.50 off a $10 purchase sounds amazing so I print it and I go (and spend way more than $10) just so I can use the coupon.

Or Old Navy, or Sears, or JCP, or whomever. They always send me these coupons that I just have to use.

Those coupon mom sites are great, too, except most of their deals center around dirt cheap diapers (I have no kids!) and those godawful SoyJoy bars.

So here is that my list is starting to look like now:

I'm unsubscribing to these as they come in to my e-mail.
7. I subscribe to every blog I can find that deals with coupons, offers, savings and smart shopping. I'm unsubscribing from these in my RSS reader.

I'll still use coupons, and e-bates, and coupon codes. I just won't be a slave to those "awesome deals" anymore.
