Trip Tips: Pack a Grab Bag of Necessities (with printables!)

Packing a small bag of items to keep at hand on the road can be a lifesaver. Here’s a checklist of things we’ve found useful to have in arm’s reach while rolling down the road:

  • Headache medicine: Excedrin, Motrin, or your preferred headache cure.
  • Band aids: how do these things happen??
  • Antacids: because there is such a thing as too many snacks.
  • Sunglasses: driving into the sun is torture, and so is glare.
  • Duct tape: fixes everything.
  • Napkins or paper towels: spills always happen when you have nothing to clean ‘em up.
  • Extra batteries: for your camera and other small gadgets.

Toss it all in a small ziploc bag or canvas tote and pack it somewhere within easy reach - the rear passenger footwells or backseat are good places. Don’t leave this stuff in your trunk. You never know what you’re going to need and when you’re going to need it. Happy travels!
