Sunday Social is a question series hosted by Neely at A Complete Waste of Makeup. I think it is a great way to get me out of my normal blogging routine and to answer questions that I probably wouldn’t otherwise. Here I go …
1. Do you plan to change any of your eating habits in the new year?
Yes. Well not necessarily change them but just do the ones I know are right for me more often than not. I can really tell a difference in how I feel when I don’t eat well – like the whole last month. I also see immediate results when I do. Seems like the choice would be obvious but living with teenagers it is hard to keep on the straight and narrow. Basically my goals are to eat more fruits and vegetables than any other food group and drink more water than coffee. If I can do that then I will consider myself successful.
2. Any workout tips to get us back in shape after the Holidays?
As Nike says: “Just do it.” I would alter that and say Just Do Something. That is my goal. Just to do something everyday. I am also trying mini 10 minute workouts 3-5 times a day. Since I am moving into a more sedentary lifestyle (not having a job and all – couch, bon bons, etc.), I can easily see myself at my computer for many more hours than I need to be. My goal is to keep me moving throughout the day.
3. Favorite thing you did over the Holidays?
My holidays were consumed with moving there is nothing worth loving there. With that said my two favorite things involved my kids. Taking Brennan skiing with his new ski pass and taking Carter to Phoenix to buy his new computer. While I complain about having a house full of boys and teenaged ones at that, I actually really like them a lot and it is a pleasure when they allow me to spend time with them.
4. What is something you hope that you accomplish in 2013 that you did not in 2012?
My theme for the year is Happiness. I would like to continue the work on living a more fulfilled life that I started a few months ago. Finding balance and enjoying the moments are my focus this year. It is a hard goal to measure but that is my focus.
5. Name 3 things happening this year you are excited about and why.
A. The obvious one is my move to Thailand. Most of the details are completed and now it is just waiting for our departure date. The excitement is beginning to set in and I can’t wait to get the adventure started.
B. I will be doing some freelance writing. I am finding writing very therapeutic. Maybe it won’t be when I am getting paid and facing deadlines but I am looking forward to doing more of it and having the freedom of accepting or declining jobs.
C. Learning photography. With more free time, I would really love to spend time learning about my camera. I can’t wait to shower you with gorgeous pictures of Thailand and beyond. Happy Sunday!
