Little E, at 14 months old, got one of her first colds ever on Thursday afternoon and Friday was her worst day. She is now pretty much back to normal. I truly believe that she bounced back so quickly was due to her diet. She shares a smoothie with me every morning (bananas, flax seeds, wheat grass, raw protein powder, veggie powder blend, spinach, raisins and cinnamon). She loves it and gobbles it all down.
I take chlorella, and 4 Juice Plus+® capsules everyday, and I give little E two capsules in her smoothie as well. If you have no idea what Juice Plus+® is, it is a whole food based nutrition, including juice powder concentrates from 17 different fruits, vegetables and grains. Each ingredient is specially selected to provide a broad range of nutritional benefits. (I do not sell this product- I just love it and strongly believe in it). I have not really been sick in 2 years and if I have it has been so mild, I haven’t really noticed.
I still nurse little E, so she gets all the nutrients- vitamins and minerals that I consume all day long. I juice fresh juices and I share them with her. Obviously, this all helps to keep her immune system healthy.I want little E to have the best start possible. She doesn’t eat a lot, so I believe why fill her tummy with empty calories that will only suppress her immune system.
I know she will eat sugar at some point, and eat chocolate-vegan chocolate that is! I just figure , I should get as many fruits and vegetables in her system, now that she loves them.
Some people might think I am overly concerned with her diet, but all I know is that she is healthy, and loves fruits and vegetables. I am looking forward to the day she (hopefully) chooses an apple over a piece of candy!
