my second tattoo coincides with another cool story, so why not tell them both? my second tattoo just so happened to be the second time i ever met josh (my now husband of 7 years). sure enough we had the same tattoo artists and we both were getting tattoos on the same day! we had lunch while we waited and would have never known that we would end up together! my older sister and super cool cousin got the insides of their wrists tattooed and me being the typical younger copy-cat of a sister decided to do my own take on it. i decided on greek, cause its beautiful and the two words i have tattooed on my wrists are 'salt' and 'light'.
Matthew 5:13-16 You are the salt of the earth. But if the salt loses its saltiness, how can it be made salty again? It is no longer good for anything, except to be thrown out and trampled underfoot. You are the light of the world. A town built on a hill cannot be hidden. Neither do people light a lamp and put it under a bowl. Instead they put it on its stand, and it gives light to everyone in the house. In the same way, let your light shine before others, that they may see your good deeds and glorify your Father in heaven.
i wanted a reminder to look at everyday. i am the salt of the earth, and the light of the world...and by remembering that, my life is dramatically different. the way i approach conversations, obstacles, trials, and inconveniences are automatically changed if i can remember that i am salt and light!
