Stand Out on the SERPs

It is getting harder to really be unique on SERPs (Search Engine Result Pages); however, it’s not impossible. One reason it is getting harder is because Google is starting to take spots up with its own sites. You want to stand out compared to your competitors, but how can you do this? We will discuss some tactics you can use to give you a new, updated look and stand out compared to your competitors in the best way possible.

Make Sure You Are Indexed

You can create wonderful content and a beautiful website and put it online and…nothing happens. Well, one problem we see is with Google or other search engines not being able to find your site. For your site or blog to come up on Google, it needs to be indexed. It needs to be recognized that it is online. Google and other search engines have ways of “crawling” through the Internet trying to find new sites and information to index it. In order to help get it indexed, make sure you have search friendly URLs, have quality content, make credible links, and make sure you have a robots.txt file on your site. There are a lot of good sites out there explaining how to do this in more detail.

Among the Stars

It is increasingly important to have good Google seller ratings. The higher the number of stars, the more credible and attractive you are to current customers and potential customers. You can start getting Google seller ratings by having 150 reviews in the last 12 months. Google came out saying ads that have seller ratings have a 17% higher CTR compared to ads that do not have seller ratings. So, for those customers who are all about the number of stars, you have to work on getting those seller ratings by Google.

Be Up Front

Your customers are much more likely to interact and commit to products or services if you are up front with them and tell them exactly what they will get. People want honesty. Remember honesty is truly the best policy for good business and customer satisfaction. This idea rings true: people want to know what to expect and they do not want surprises in their journey to purchase their products.

Location, Location, Location

If you have a physical business front, work on local SEO. This is incredibly important when a lot of your business comes from the community around you. Make sure your NAP is consistent and up-to-date. Also, we mentioned those stars earlier. They will come around once again and can raise you above your competitors through positive ratings.

Final Thoughts

It is getting harder to truly stand out in SERPs, but once again, not impossible. It takes hard work, dedication, and someone who is up for a challenge. If you go back to the basics and work with passion and ethics, you will succeed. These strategies will help you connect with your customers and be able to create long-term connections with your customers.
