As I sit around on this gloomily dark and rainy Friday morning/afternoon, (in my pajamas of course) I think it is a good time to share a few random tidbits from my week of Funemployment (which lasts until July 5 so not done yet!). I did not do a whole lot, but I think that's kinda good, right? Here are some snapshots of things that actually did happen this week:
Kevin and I added this sweet loveseat to our deck seating area. He found it on clearance at Target and I am loving it! I was sitting out there reading until about 11 on Wednesday night.
I completed my wine cork cork board--yay! 96 corks! Now don't call Betty Ford on me, half of these were collected over several years, a whopping 42 came from a wine tasting where Jenny went up to random people to ask for their wine corks (awesome friend!) and the last 6 were girls' wine nights and whatnot.
On Wednesday night I cooked up some bbq pulled chicken sandwiches with the help of my crock pot. Unfortunately Kevin had to work super late, so it was Miss Mare party of 1 on the deck. Oh well. It was delish!
Yesterday brought crazy hot 100 degree temps to Chicago! Suffocatingly humid. I always find it harder to find cute things to wear in the summer for some reason and hottt days are the worst, especially when you know that whatever you put on will be drenched in perspiration (hopefully your own) within 2.53 seconds. I pulled together this little outfit for yesterday: Ann Taylor Loft tank, New York and Co. shorts and flip flops and I was pretty pleased.
Yesterday I also stopped by to see the adorable one (nephew Bobby) and of course my sister. Not as easy entertaining a one year old on a hot day when his favorite activity is going outside. He has several play areas throughout the house though.
After that I stopped over at my parents' house and watched The Shawshank Redemption with them. Random, I know, but they like to rent movies from the library and I told them they had to see The Shawshank Redemption. My mom was nervous since it's about a prison and that sure can't be pleasant, but she and my dad both watched it and thought it was great. And while I was there, I picked up our wedding invitations that had just come in! Here's a little sneak peek, so if you want to be surprised, don't scroll down!
I even posted them on the wine cork cork board! They are quite basic, but I love the style and they were a great price! I absolutely love them and Kevin likes 'em too! I whited out the addresses and identifying info for safety's sake. I'm sure y'all are lovely and fantastic people, but safety first on the internets! Ya never know who's creepin' out there! Then I got home and even made it to a spin class by 6 yesterday. Go me!
Today is a lazy day so far, but I've got 8th grade graduation tonight at the school I was working at so I'll be sure to get off my lazy tush by then. Have a fantastic weekend everyone!
