Single Is Not A Bad Word

At 42 nearly 43 years old, I am still single. I am truly okay with being single. The thing that baffles me, is everyone else seems to have a problem with me being single. I often am forgotten or left out of fun events with people because I do believe they think I am boring. I am anything but boring. I have even heard whispers " Is she gay". No I am not gay and I love my gay friends but with two failed relationships in past five years. I am so not interested in dating. My best friend will tell you that I know how to pick some duds. Duds they are. I am working on me for awhile and trying to see where this writing career leads too. I have heard people say Single people are contagious. Contagious with what? The fear we might make you single. That is acutally a comical thing and it sounds like a issue with your own realtionship and not mine. I also have no children not by choice but I refused to have kids before the marriage. So if I do get married I doubt I will be having kids in my fourties or fifties. I think when someone uses "Single" as a bad word it is really them being jealous of my freedom to come and go as I please and when I please. Again, I say Single is not a bad word
