Agnes Muljadi, known to her tens of thousands of Instagram followers as “Artsy Agnes,” definitely fits the profile of a modern day triple threat: Celebrity Blogger, Dancer and Actress. What’s more is that this multi-disciplined young woman is using her talents to promote a platform that she feels especially passionate about, the vegan lifestyle.
Muljadi first found herself in the spotlight in 2005, when she made her acting debut as an abused young woman in the critically-acclaimed documentary style short film “Cool Daddy.” Over the next 10 years, she went on to land roles in several independent films, including “Forecast,” “Porcelain,” “The Long March,” and the highly-regarded British short film, “Continuum.” No slouch to hard work and creativity, Agnes also wrote, co-produced and starred in the feature length film, “Dichotomy.”Growing Social
After making a splash in the world of indie cinema, Agnes’ artistic skills outside the film industry began to take shape. As a professional ballerina and a photographer with a keen eye for stylish, unique shots featuring her favorite dance poses, the ballet dancer started becoming more known for her creativity behind the camera. Showcasing vegan products and interesting places around Los Angeles, Muljadi began attracting an appreciative fan base of vegans and ballet lovers on Instagram.
Agnes’ growing popularity on social media eventually led to endorsement partnerships with many well-known brands, including Lionsgate Studio, Macy’s, NFL, Starbucks, True Religion, Reebok and Banana Republic. Her favorite collaborations, though, are those that have allowed her to further expand her efforts to raise awareness about the sustainability of veganism as a way of living a healthy and environmentally-conscious life. With those ethics in mind, Muljadi has partnered with popular eco-friendly and charitable brands such as TOMS Australia, KIND Snacks, 100% Pure, SUJA, and Lian & Mez.
The classically-trained dancer was also recently featured in Vegan Good Life magazine and, following in the footsteps of many hard-working celebrities before her, she has teamed up with a skin care merchandiser to create a signature beauty product. Her Vegan Body Oil was co-produced by ARTISANskin and has become widely popular since its release in 2016. American Spa magazine and ARTISANskin founder Amal Elbahnasawy touted the collaboration, which features various products from celebrities and influencers, as “SnapChat for the beauty industry.”
As for Agnes, she couldn’t be happier about the unexpected esteem that creatively savvy internet partnerships have brought to her life. In a recent exclusive interview for ELuxe magazine, the new media star gushes that “Social media has ... provided me with valuable opportunities to collaborate with amazing artists and brands from all over the world. It also has given me a platform to start a dialogue about two things I am passionate about: ballet and the vegan lifestyle.”What’s Next
For the Indonesian born ballerina, who received full scholarships to study dance in Indonesia, the U.K. and the U.S., dance has been one of the strongest guiding forces in her life so far. Although her post-dance training life had her performing lead and soloist roles in various Pacific Northwest troupes, Muljadi is now a contented resident of -- where else? -- Los Angeles.
From the sunny, well-positioned locale of southern California, Agnes looks forward to continuing her role as an influencer extraordinaire and empress of Instagram, mostly because it allows her the flexibility to continue training, dancing, acting and using her creative photography skills to uplift and inspire others. Being able to marry artistic integrity with her dearly-held passions is paramount to this elegant social media celebrity, who emphatically insists that “I always try to create content that reflects my lifestyle. I love discovering and introducing new vegan & sustainable products to my followers. I also find it extremely rewarding to be given the opportunity to create content and start a conversation about the products [I’m] promoting.”
