Emma’s Afternoon Nap, fondly known as “Mommy’s Alone Time”, ceased to exist on Monday, April 4th, 2011. The Afternoon Nap had a short-lived life, and at roughly three and a half years of life, it finally saw its last day. The Afternoon Nap’s passing was sudden and the cause of death is unknown. Our hearts go out to the countless others who have experienced the same loss without explanation or warning.
While the entire family has been deeply affected by the loss of the Afternoon Nap, it is arguably Emma’s mother Morgan who has been hit the hardest. The Afternoon Nap was widely recognized as Morgan’s favorite time of day, and she has many fond memories of catching up on emails, writing blog posts, and watching reruns of “Glee” on Hulu during those few short hours.
The family has decided to keep the Afternoon Nap’s memorial service closed to the public. There has been a memorial fund in the name of “Pinot Grigio” set up for anyone who wishes to donate. This has been a rough transition for the family and thank you for respecting our privacy during this difficult time.
